Dear Friend,

Somebody prayed for me.

Long before this shirt was ever an idea, those words were a reality in my life. I grew up hearing a simple song in church:

“Somebody prayed for me,
had me on their mind,
took the time and prayed for me…”

I didn’t realize then how true that was for my own story.

As we’ve been reading about Moses and the Israelites, I saw that truth again. Over and over, when the people rebelled and turned away, Moses went before God and interceded for them. God heard his prayers, and His anger turned to mercy. That picture of intercession hit me in a new way: someone standing in the gap can change everything.

When I look back over my “prodigal son” seasons—those times I knew what God said but chose my own way—I am convinced my mama (and a few others) were quietly calling my name out to God. She didn’t have to tell me; I just know she did. And I know God was patient with me, covered me, and welcomed me back home.

This shirt is a thank-You to God and a thank-you to every hidden intercessor who prays when nobody else sees.
